Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 1 oz freshly brewed espresso, cooled
- 0.5 oz coffee liqueur (i.e. Kahlúa, Patrón XO Café)
- 0.5 oz homemade date syrup (see below)
- Ice cubes
Homemade Date Syrup:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup pitted Coachella’s Best Medjool Dates
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:
- Soak pitted dates in hot water for 15-20 minutes until soft.
- Cool slightly, then blend until smooth.
- Strain mixture through a cheesecloth to remove the solid pieces.
- Leave on the counter to cool completely before using.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator if you’re not using it immediately.
Espresso Date Martini Instructions:
- In a shaker, combine vodka, cooled espresso, coffee liqueur, and homemade date syrup.
- Top with ice cubes.
- Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill the ingredients thoroughly.
- Strain and pour into a chilled martini glass.
- Optional: Garnish with a few espresso beans, or a brown sugar rim for some added sweetness!
