Great flavor and great price on these cooking dates. They are a bit tougher and denser than other cooking date shipments I've had, but that is the deal with cooking dates right? They are definitionally less than perfect. But these dates are great for shakes and for making chutneys.

The cooking dates that I received earlier this November had about 1/4 of them soft enough to easily form into date balls without problem. The rest of them were good to use for stuffed dates. They were all very fresh. Buying directly from the farm gets you more quality dates in my experience.

Coachella's Delicious and juicy dates are great snack both for both adults and kids. Just replace the seed with the nut of your choice and dip in melted chocolate, it makes healthy treat.

Out of 5 lbs of dates that I pitted, only 4 of them had worms, which did not affect the quality of the rest of them. Majority of them were very ripe and moist so it was very easy to mash them. But I was disappointed that they were not going to keep as long as the 5lb box I purchased about a month ago. The 5lb box was packaged with a better presentation and the dates were not so ripe that they demand being consumed quickly. I was hoping to finish through them slowly but because of their ripeness I think they wouldn't last for more than 2 weeks in the fridge.

I was surprise to find that Coachella's Medjool Cooking Dates are still so fresh compare to the ones I see deteriorating in quality at my local discount stores. Most of the cooking dates are still very moist inside, but once in a while I find a few dates that are a little drier and some others that have infestation inside. Thankfully the infestation is contained within those individual dates and do not seem to affect others. Overall, I have purchased the dates two times now and am very thankful that I can make date balls again for my business even during this time (early summer) of the year.
