Where are all of the sweet tooths at?! If you are trying to develop a healthier lifestyle, sometimes it can be difficult to cut out more sugary foods. Restricting and cutting out the foods that make you feel happy could work against you in your pursuit of a healthier lifestyle if you’re left fighting off the cravings and struggling to stay strong.
What if we told you that you could have the best of both worlds and don’t have to give up the foods you love in order to be healthy? With these amazing Date Snicker Bars, you can have your “cake” and eat it too! Dates have a natural caramel taste and are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and fiber that will keep you satisfied for hours! Here is how to make your new favorite dessert:
Ingredients
- 15 Coachella's Best Organic Medjool Dates (remove the pits)
- 1 Tbsp of smooth peanut butter (or any nut butter)
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 4 Tbsp of peanuts (you can substitute these for almonds!)
- 1/4 cup of smashed peanuts
- 2 Tbsp of milk (you can use nut milk as well)
- 2 cups of dark chocolate chips
Materials
- 5x5 glass dish or tin
- Wax paper
Directions
- Pit your Coachella's Best Organic Medjool dates.
- Line the 5x5 glass dish with wax paper.
- Using a double burner, melt:
- 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
- 1/2 Tbsp of milk
- Pour melted chocolate over wax paper, lining the bottom of the dish.
- Place the glass dish in the freezer for approximately 20 minutes or until the chocolate has completely hardened.
- Mix together the 2 Tbsp peanut butter and 1/4 cup of smashed peanuts.
- Remove the glass dish from the freezer and spread the peanut mixture over the hardened chocolate.
- Place the glass dish back in the freezer.
- Blend together:
- 15 Coachella's Best Organic Medjool Dates
- 1 Tbsp of smooth peanut butter
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp of peanuts
- Remove dish from the freezer after approximately 20 minutes.
- Spread the blended ingredients over the frozen ingredients. (make sure to pack it in!)
- Carefully lift the sides of the wax paper at the bottom of your dish and lay the wax paper on a flat surface.
- Melt the remaining 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips with the 1 1/2 Tbsp of milk.
- Pour and spread the chocolate evenly, making sure to get the sides, and put it back in the freezer on the wax paper for 20 minutes.
- Remove from the freezer and cut into bite-size pieces
- Enjoy!
