These Rutabs are every bit as good as the regular Medjools ... If not better? Now that I've tried both varieties, I'm more confused than ever! They are both so delicious that I just can't stop eating them! I'll be placing another order from Coachella's Best Organic Dates just as soon as my money trees bear a little more fruit.
Bottom line, you just can't go wrong ~ Rutab or Medjool = Mouth watering delicious!

The organic rutab dates are the best darn dates I’ve ever eaten!! So sweet, moist, and delicious! I like to pit them & freeze them to eat frozen. They don’t freeze hard solid, they are just chewy like a caramel. Yummy!!!

Hopefully it’s easy to see in my photo, how huge the Rutab Medjool Dates (top right) are compared to Halawi Dates (Bottom) or Brown Barhi Dates (top left).
I first discovered this company when shopping in my local Whole Foods store and I saw the 1 pound packages of Medjool Dates. Fast forward 2 weeks later and I decided to try out 5 pounds of Rutab Medjool Dates, which are absolutely mind blowing. The moistness balances out the sweetness and the flavored still shines through just fine. Of the 4 Dates that I’ve tried, Medjool (drier than Rutab Medjool and can sometimes seem overly sweet), Rutab Medjool, Halawi and Brown Barhi, Rutab Medjool is my favorite. All the others are still worth eating alongside each other, instead of overlooking one for another.

I knew it was unlikely, but I had hoped to get a different product: rutab can refer to unripe dates available for a very short period of time, but those are almost impossible to find. In any case, the best medjool dates I ever had. Soft, very fresh and flavorful. If anything, almost too sweet. Almost.

The rutab dates are excellent. They have been in my experience very clean and moist. Unfortunately when we ordered the Bahri dates, many of them were exposed to pests, and were found inside the dates. Coachellas best gave us a refund, so we appreciate their service and will continue to buy, although probably sticking to Rutab.
